Anastasia is an early modern historian. Her current research explores contacts between Europe and the Greek East, c.1450 to c.1715. She has previously published on martyrdom and the body during the English Reformations and on English local history during the early modern and modern periods. Her research is primarily located in the fields of history of migration, transcultural history, Reformation history, and bibliographical history.
Anastasia is currently Humfrey Wanley Visiting Fellow at the Bodleian Library (Oxford University). In 2023-24, she was Munby Fellow in Global Bibliography at Cambridge University Library and St John’s College (Cambridge), examining the collection and use of Greek manuscripts and books in early modern Cambridge. Prior to this, she held a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship at the University of East Anglia (2020-23), exploring early modern Anglo-Hellenic networks. Previously, she was Principal Investigator and lead author for Victoria County History’s project on the parish of Cradley in Herefordshire (2019-20). She completed her PhD in Reformation history at the University of Warwick in 2018, and has a PGCE and First-Class BA (Hons) in History from the University of Oxford.
